... is a mountain dulcimer performer and instructor from the Greater Cincinnati area. She has been a favorite at numerous festivals including Kentucky Music Week, Heartland Dulcimer Festival, Berea Learn Shops, Lagniappe Dulcimer Society Fete, North Georgia Foothills Dulcimer Association Virtual Fall Festival and many more. In addition to standard dulcimer, she also teaches baritone, chromatic, banjo-dulcimer and ukulele.
She enjoys creating and teaching unique arrangements that explore the contemporary side of the mountain dulcimer and add a new dimension to traditional tunes. She has published nine dulcimer tablature books including her most recent Speakeasy and Tin Pan Alley Tunes for Chromatic Dulcimer. She also has a 10th chromatic dulcimer book in the works.
Dana has two sons, two grandsons, a step-grandson, four grand-dogs and a new puppy named Blossom.
Once again, Diane will bring her love of music to the Buckeye Dulcimer Festival. At her home in NE Ohio Amish company, her home is filled with music as she gves lessons on piano, guitar, and mountain dulcimer to many in the community.
She has given freely of her time and talent to help new players on the mountain dulcimer along their musical journey. Her orientation introductions have included comparing learning the dulcimer to football, fishing, and I know that I am forgetting some good ones.
For many years, we knew Diane as the mother who brought (sat in class )two of her daughters (Hannah and Joanna) to the festival.
