Buckeye Dulcimer Roadshow Zoom Jams
Hi Everyone,
JANUARY, 2023
As long as there is participation, the Early Bird classes at 6:00 pm (EST) will continue. There will normally be two EB classes one geared to hammered dulcimer (Chris) Zoom Link: Hammered Dulcimer Workshop
and one to the mountain dulcimer (Shari and
Joe). New for 2023 at 7:00 pm (EST), Buckeye Roadshow (Chris, Joe, and Shari) will share our music in a short mini concert sharing our music. The Zoom session will continue after the mini-concert with the zoom jam starting at 7:30 pm (EST).
As
always, we look for your feedback.
Email us with your thoughts! The premise of these Zoom jams involves everyone playing along with Joe & Chris Steiner and Shari Wolf. You can hear us, but we will be muting you during the playing to avoid lag timing as a result of differing internet connections. We hope these times will be fun and help you to continue jamming with others in preparation for upcoming live events. Plan now for next year's Buckeye Dulcimer Festival, April 19-23, 2023. We intend to continue these Zoom jams for the foreseeable future. You’ll notice that we call this THE BUCKEYE ROADSHOW JAM. We hope to be moving this Zoom jam to various locations and invite local folks to join us for the jam as well as our virtual jammers through Zoom.
Continuing into 2023:
EARLY BIRD CLASSES ... one for hammered dulcimer
with Chris Steiner and one for the mountain dulcimer with Joe Steiner and Shari
Wolf. Zoom links are different for each class and for the Zoom Jam.
Class descriptions, music PDFs and, zoom links can all be found on the
ZOOM JAM PAGE.
Do
you need to be a tech wizard to attend these jams? NO!
If you don't already have the ZOOM Program loaded onto your device, a dialog box
will pop up that will walk you through the steps. |

HISTORY OF BUCKEYE ROADSHOW ZOOM JAMS!
Hello Buckeye Facebook ‘likes’ and fans! First thoughts .... April, 2021
Chris & Joe Steiner and myself have been discussing where we
stand with music, Buckeye Dulcimer Festival, and our group,
Buckeye Junction, with the loss of Joyce. Our discussion
focused at length on what things are missing from not having
live, face-to-face festivals (Buckeye in particular) and
what, if anything, we can do about it. Over the last couple
weeks, the three of us have put some time and energy into
learning more about the possibilities of a ZOOM Jam. We want
to keep the spirit of Buckeye alive until our next festival
in 2022.
Watching group jams on Zoom, we know there can only be
only one active jam leader window with everyone joining the
jam being
muted while we play mainly because of connection time
differences. We’ve tweaked the sound and Zoom processes.
We’ve had some volunteers that have spent time with us to
help us come up with the best experience that we can at this
point.
We would like to invite you to our Buckeye Dulcimer Festival Zoom Jams. You do not need to be a past participant of the Buckeye Dulcimer Festival to join in on the music. There is no charge. We hope to get feedback from you as to whether to pursue this concept further as time goes on. e will start with basic traditional jam tunes, start at a slower speed and increase that speed little by little. This will not be a beginner jam. It will be more of a ‘knock off the rust’ jam. There will be some singing and you'll be playing with Chris, Joe, and I in the same window. That 2-hour drive for us to be able to present to you a 'band' sound is getting shorter all the time. We hope you will join us knowing that we depend on your input for direction. Thanks from us, Chris & Joe Steiner and me (Shari Wolf) May, 2021
